Has anyone tried successfully (or not) to mount a bike or ski rack on the trunk lid of an E 450 or similar convertible? Please tell me what you bought and how it works. Pics would be great.
My car should be on the boat on its way over. Getting excited

Ahh!!! Love it. I want one!!! What model is this? When I look at Yakima it lists everything except the cabrio.

I assume there’s not been any issues with stress on the trunk lid or any other scuffing or damage?

I believe it’s a Saris Bones 2. I have the three. Very versatile and secure.
Now, how about some ski rack suggestions please.

A hitch receiver gives you options. The E-Class can have a receiver installed, correct?

any trouble opening or closing the rag top while the rack is attached with or without a bike? From the picture, looks like no, but figured I ask

also I assume it messes with the bumper proximity sensors?

Hi.... just wanted to ask how this bike rack is working out for you after a few months. Any damage to the trunk or anywhere on the body? Want to pull the trigger on this but don't want to find out the hard way that it leaves small indentations or scuff marks

Won’t be using my bike rack until May/June. Got 18” of snow in Northern Vermont last week. Hope to ski until mid May!

Reopening this thread. Our E series cabs are not listed as a fit on Saris website, but in the pictures posted it is on my model an E53. Now that it has been a couple of years , any problems? Did you ever find a ski rack option?
