Saddle Brown interior
Sen trim
Air Body Control
Driver Assistance Package
AMG Package
19'' AMG 10-spoke wheels
Ventilated Front Seats
Multi-contour Seats
Warmth & Comfort Package
Augmented Video
Dashcam
Wheel locking bolts
Chrome Door Handle Inserts
Illuminated Door Sills
The tough decisions...
- My wife had a slight preference for the beige interior, but we got the Saddle Brown for easier upkeep
- 19'' wheels - look a lot better, but only come with the high-performance tires. This was a really tough call
- Air Body Control. I think this is a good decision, but interested in others' opinions. My wife places a high premium on a smooth, comfortable ride
Overall, it's about the perfect second car for us. My wife loves Mercedes and owning one is a major bucket list item for her. My wife absolutely loves the E450 cabriolet model and fell deeply in love with it when she test drove the 2020 model last year. It's literally the only sports car I fit in and I fit in it very well. It may be the only Mercedes that I fit in (I tried 6 - 8 models). This year's model is an upgrade over the 2020 model.
I'm confident my wife will be super happy with it. I'm excited too

2022 E450 Cabriolet
Interesting build Chapel Hill . Just a couple of questions if I may , I'm just about to order the same car myself : Did you consider the gloss brown trim to go with the saddle brown and which 19 inch wheels did you choose - I see two styles on the build site ? I'm in Canada and the performance tires come only with the 20 inch wheels . From what I've read , the Air Body Control does a very good job at smoothing the ride ,although I also think the regular ride is pretty smooth to start with and personally I would be concerned about potential future maintenance issues . It will be an amazing looking car when it arrives - keep us informed with the delivery process and of course lots of pics !

We got the 19” rims with the more even spaced spikes. I think we will probably buy the wheel / tire insurance. I had a Mercedes rental car in Canada with the performance tires and hit a major pothole on the way to the airport. That bent up the rim pretty good.
Point taken on Air Body Control. Hopefully we don’t have any issues with it...

Interesting — I'm in the process of placing an order and they told me the multicontour seats aren't available. It's not a big deal so I'm not pushing it. They were a "why not — might be nice on my semi-regular 250 mile trips" thing. I *think* what they mean is that they can't get those as part of an earlier build slot — I could get them but it would significantly delay the build. I'm still waiting on a date. I seem to recall that certain build slots sometimes preclude getting certain options.

2022 GLE 450 (Black on Black)
We just spec our new 2022 E450 Convertible. Order being held by dealer until the "order bank" opens up. Our lease on our 2019 CLS 450 is due in the Fall.

So far, I have not heard from my salesperson or GM as to when the orders will be accepted. If the past is any indication, the last cabriolet we had (2018), the factory only runs cabriolets very rarely. Once I hear, I will share the information.

Mine was a dealer intercept order also. Felt lucky they had one to take. I read that in Germany you can follow your build through the factory. Don’t know why it is unavailable elsewhere. Started mine feb 2, delayed once for lack of parts. As covid decreases, everything should increase in supply( fingers crossed)

My wife’s 2021 E450 cabriolet arrived yesterday. Super fun car. Very refined and the weather is perfect for a convertible. My wife could not be more happy.
Today, we finally got my brand new X5 M50i out of the Detailer shop after a full wrap. My car and I couldn’t be more happy.
