Backup camera failure
I just had an airbag replaced as part of a safety recall. I immediately noticed that the backup camera didn't work. After analysis, the service manager told me that the control unit couldn't get the camera to work. They didn't have a camera in stock and would need to put one in before they could determine if it was the camera and / or the control unit.
I said it was VERY coincidental that the camera worked when I backed out of my garage to go to the dealer for the air bag recall replacement and that when I went to leave the dealership after replacement, it no longer worked.
They claim that the airbag replacement had no connection to the camera failure since the air bag replacement was done via the glove box.
I've done a lot of searching on the Internet but can't find anything that matches this situation. I wondered if they blew a fuse.
Any opinion about this?

I've not heard of any relation between the two. There are numerous posts throughout the different models about backup camera failure, many times the resolution was replacing the cabling. In any case, if you are referring to a 2014 model, you'll get the best responses in the 207 forum.
