Hi fellow problem magnets,
I have a C238 E400 coupe 2017. Its driving me round the bend - i have warnings flashing up on the display with no reason
Coolant level low, Check direction of travel, clutch overheating, various lamps defective, transmission fault are he most common ones. Is this a can-bus error or SAM issue? Are these warnings all coming from the same SAM unit?
Could it be a 12v supply voltage issue or bad earth? Central gateway?
thanks in advance for any feedback
dave

I am by no means an expert, but the most common first advice given in cases like yours is to have the battery tested. You are just about at the 5-year point, the time at which most dealers recommend preemptive battery replacement. The car may start fine, but if the battery voltage is just a slight bit low, it can wreak havoc with all the complex electronics and cause your dashboard to light up like the proverbial "Ginza at night."

Have the battery checked by a reputable shop. If you need a replacement, you don't need to buy from MB. Just be sure you get the proper type, capacity and size.

This year we replaced the batteries in both of our 2015's, before any problems arose.

Cheers Steve, i will have it checked although the battery is charging at 14.8 volts that's not to say the cells are done. I have also had a couple of calls from scorpion tracker alert telling me that they have had a battery dip alert from the car when its been parked. Didn't think to put 2 and 2 together but makes perfect sense now. Will update you soon.
best regards
