2019 E450 Cabriolet, 2020 GLS450
I have a 2019 E450 Cab…. I have similar but opposite issue…. I have a very annoying squeal but not when stopping, but when starting to move from a stop. It’s really embarrassing. I’ve had it in the shop three times and they give me BS lines like “it’s supposed to do this”. I don’t buy it

Hissing Breaks
Hi All. I just bought this nice vehicle new, but have two issues:
1. The chassis and brakes squeaked. I took it back to dealer and they said they removed some stones. The chassis no longer squeals, but brakes still squeak when I brake gently. See video. Any ideas on whether the pads or rotors are defective?

2. I didn’t get navigation on this. Can this feature we unlocked at a third party repair shop?

I thought that was normal for a garbage truck.
My cars with Brembo brakes never had a hissing problem.
Were you able to find a fix?

Hi there, my 2021 E53 (C238) has a hissing sound from the brakes, like yours, it does it after a few minutes of driving, when applying the brake softly and not all the time, or when is raining. I’ve find it very weird and unusual for a new vehicle. I also heard that that’s normal for a performance vehicle.
I thought that was normal for a garbage truck.
My cars with Brembo brakes never had a hissing problem.
Were you able to find a fix?
Any luck with the MB Lounge?

Thank you for the feedback.
Hi. I’m going on 7 months of the brake chirping from day 1 of buying my new E53 Cabriolet. After many service visits, my local dealer replaced the rotors and the brake pads and the chirps are still there. I have been told that the MB head office has been informed and is working on modified brake pads. Several E53 owners apparently have voiced similar problems so it seems the MB head office should be aware. I am going to wait another couple of months as I have been told the modified brakes are in process.
At least your dealer made an effort to correct the problem. Mine said it was normal.
That’s awesome that MB is working on the issue.
I’m not the only one that hears this break hissing when the traffic stops.
Other drivers do too…just like the garbage trucks next to me. LOL.
Hopefully, they’ll fix this issue for us, who already took delivery.
Pleas keep me posted, when your vehicle is repaired, so I can make my move to have mine repaired as well.

The car was purchased new in Hong Kong where there is a government tax of 100 percent on purchase price! Thus options are kept to a minimum. I do use Apple Play, but there are times I am without my iPhone and would like to use the NAV.
On the annoying brake squeak I just brought the car in to the service center. It’s disappointing that on a brand new car I have to hear this every time I gently brake. Let’s see what they can do. It’s not a good feeling.
