Coolant temperature gauge

Just picked up my E450 cab and find the coolant temperature gauge has been replaced by a 48v charging status gauge .
Is there no way of displaying the ongoing coolant temperature without going into the engine menu ?

I don't remember if they also changed this for your vehicle with MBUX but in the pre-facelift with COMAND, it used to be in the "Service" menu on the driver side display, that one that you navigate into in order to check how long till your next maintenance is due, tire pressure (including resetting and accepting new reference values), oil level (for vehicles that don't have dipsticks) and coolant temperature level.

I also can't speak for MBUX, but for COMAND, the temp gauge is present on the main display where speedo/tach etc. is.

You can voice command "engine data" as I recall there maybe the temp is there also.

I have the same question. And, where is the engine menu?

Select ' Info' and then ' Engine ' and there is a full display of everything including coolant temperature .I just keep that display on permanently as my default setting .

very normal. around the middle of the gauge is where it's supposed to be

when driving on the highway you have a lot more airflow over the radiator which is what cools down the water
