Truck wee not open

Hello friends
2018 E400C Truck will not open. And the green button on the inside won’t work either. I checked the fuse box legend under the trunk mat but they both look good. 469 (40) and 435 Remote Trunk Lid Release. Tries the key fob, Mercedes emblem on trunk, and pull switch on the drivers door.
I really don’t want to take it in…
any insight

I saw that for the first time reading the manual. it was in the unlocked position, so i moved it back and forth and put it back into the lock position.

update on trunk will not open. Dealer said that truck motor is bad and needs to be replace. Hope to get it back soon. Taillight issue is charge, A break in the wire. about 2K to repair.
