Car suddenly stops in reverse
Randomly while backing up in reverse my '21 E450C, my car will suddenly apply the brakes hard and stop as if I'm about to hit something even though i'm not (example backing the car into the garage). It must be a glitch with the cameras/software that it's detecting a possible collision.
It scared the crap out of me the 1st time it happened because i thought i hit something. It's totally random and I try to drive really slow in R so it doesn't happen. We've also experienced the same behavior in our '21 GLE580.
Has anyone else experienced this random behavior in reverse?

I've had this happen randomly, two different times since owning my car 2 years *(4 times total). Each time I could blame something (3 ft tall grass, tall curb that really isn't that tall). Scared the *&^%$ out of me too. I actually thought I had hit something first time. I have a '21 E450 coupe.
The first time it happened, it wasn't once but 3 times right in a row. I had to cut the 3 ft tall ornamental grass sitting right out side my passenger side of garage. I got out first time, saw nothing, and tried again to back out - hard brake stop, so I got out AGAIN and saw the weed and thought (surely not?) and yet again another hard brake stop. I cut the grass and had no resistance after that.
second time I was pulling out of a parking spot and it did it again. I realized there was a nearby curb with big shadows on it. It didn't repeat it.
I think the car over think things...I've found overall on my car I have to keep the plethora of cameras pretty clean for a variety of glitchy reasons.

I have had this happen with my Buick and more rarely with my Mercedes. It is almost like there is a ghost walking behind or in front of you (joking). I assume there is some sort of spurious RF or light interference with the sensors. It is rare but never the less annoying.

It happens with my car when I'm backing out of the garage, and it's usually well justified by a pedestrian about to walk behind my car or an oncoming vehicle that I can't see due to the layout of my garage (about three feet to the right of my driveway there's brick wall that extends all the way to the sidewalk, and the sidewalk is immediately adjacent to the street, making it difficult to see very far down the street or sidewalk until I'm virtually in the street, so backing out requires a lot of care).
