23 E53 Steering wheel round controls / displays dead

2005 SL500
23 E53 Steering wheel round controls / displays dead
The two round controls on the steering wheel (right: driving mode, left: programmable) are blank and non-functional. All the functions are operable and still controllable via other means.

I've scanned with an MB Foxwell NT530 and no relevant active codes present.

Under warranty, but asking if there is anything that can be done without dealer action, some sort of reboot / download etc?

Looks like it is broken sadly so a replacement is on order: http://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/8...lfunction.html
