I just picked up a CPO E450 A238 and wanted to see if someone with a convertible can look in their trunk towards the fold-down rear seats to verify something for me.

On either side of the trunk towards the back seats there is exposed metal and bolts. Seems like a carpet trim cover could go over this on either side, but can’t seem to find them in the parts diagrams. Seems silly to be left exposed.

There were also 3 plastic rivets for the flip up floor cover missing so this has lead me down a rabbit hole.

 

Just looked in the trunk of my 2023 E450 Cab. I have the same exposed metal and bolts on the backs of the seats.

 

My 2019 E450 cab looks the same as yours with exposed bolts on either side
