what's lible to brake???

Ok,
I just purchased a 1985 300D with 167k miles and a WVO system from greasecar (two tank system). Everything seems to work great on the car (though the car doesn't hold a vacuum for more than a minute after shut-down).
So, here's the question... What are the likely things to go wrong on the car mechanically? It seems very reliable and had been pretty well cared for, but it is 22 years old. I'd like to know what parts I should keep in the trunk so I don't get stranded on the side of the road. I figured extra fuel filters were a pretty good idea, but past that I really don't know. I'm pretty mechanical, but this is my first diesel.
thanks,
ben

First thing you should do is get rid of that illegal WVO system and your reliability will shoot way up.

Fix the leak in the vaccuum system, it will cause all kinds of trouble. Transmission, turbo, fuel enrichment, etc. I would have demanded that be fixed before buying.
