Car won't turn to the right (only left)
A couple of days ago, as I turned the car "hard to the right" while arriving at the office parking lot, I heard a loud, "dry" "pock!" sound.
I attempted to test drive it around the lot and discovered something got damaged in the steering -- I can only turn left, not right.
I tried looking underneath, but the car is too low to the ground to get a good look. I was told by a mechanic that I either have "rack and pinion" steering or "gearbox" steering.
What is the most likely culprit?
I don't know where you can get a rebuilt one if the gears failed.
Cross your fingers that it is not the box and only one of the steering links
ohlord

since you can turn one way maybe the box is good and a link failed on the side you can't turn towards.
time to lift and look
