Gear ratio and speedometer correction
Thank you greatly for having me as this is my first post on this forum. I'm a lover of all MB. My collection of MB, SLK 55AMG, 69 220, 73 220D, and a E500.
I have a question. My 1973 220D came with a 3.69 rear end. It was changed to a 3.07 W123 rear. Now my speedometer is way off. Is there a instrument cluster out of a MB that I can swap mine out with that will make the speedo more accurate. Even closer if not 100%. Now the speedo is fairly useless.
Please help, I've searched and searched for the answer but haven't came up with anything.

A 220D has a 3.92 diff.
No W115 used a cluster with anything close to that ratio. A 3.46 from a W115 300D is about half in between the spread but its still too far off to be of even slight use.
The only option is to find a cable ratio box to overdrive the speedo. But you're looking at over $150 for one.
