300SD 1981 and 1983
will a 300SD engine fit in a 300D turbo?
So I am wondering if a 5 cylinder engine out of a 1983 300sd will fit in a 1986 300D turbo (vin WDBEB33D3HA323589). The 1986 300D is a 6 cylinder and i'm just wondering if a 5 cylinder engine would mesh with the transmission/other parts. Any help or information would be much appreciated.

Hi,
I´m just wondering.. the 300D with the sixpack is a 124, so the 5pot normally will fit.
The major problems will be the engine brackets, and the hight of the cylinderhead.
The whole engine is different, so please have a look onto the rest of the drivetrain
(I´m sorry for my english,.

81 300sd, 83 300dT, F350, 250 diesel & 16 ft car trailer
u need to whole tranny & engine pack.
the old I-5 dsl has starter on pass side.
I-6 dsl has starter on driver side.
rest u can figure out.
