1990 300E
Start-up vibration and hesitation
I have a 1990 300E with 132,000 miles on it. When I start the car, usually the engine will vibrate and run kinda poorly for a few seconds until the oil pressure rises. Is this normal and/or should I be worried about it?

my 95 volvo 850 turbowagon (68k) does that if i don't drive it for more than 2 weeks...given the mileage on urs...it doesn't seem too bad...if u are worried...take it in and just have it looked at (shouldn't cost anything, just ask dealer to c if anything serious is wrong and have them notify u b4 making any changes).

I have an 89 300e. I had the same problem with mine. I don't know if it was exactly, but maybe this can help diagnose the problem...
When I turned on my car it would take like 5 seconds to turn over then run real rough. It ran like my tractor
!!! Then if I waited a few seconds it would run OK. It got really bad in the winter, like 35 degrees and below, and would only be on a cold start. I brought it to a mechanic I don't really use, and he fixed it. The problem then returned a few months later, but I just dealt with it, and now it's summer and it doesn't do it anymore. The guy who fixed it said he worked on the fuel injection and starter systems and had more fuel come into the engine upon startup. I don't think this worked, it must be something else. Let me know what your mechanic says if it seems like you have the same problem.
