Exclamation new 94 E320...help with fluid change please

I just purchased a 94 E320 Black/Gray with 115k miles ->

At the moment I only need to find a decent set of tires for it. In the future I would like to do a HID conversion. Can anyone offer suggestions/advice or how-to information on the best/easiest HID conversion kits available.

I'm not totally new to MBs - I previously had a 86 190e 2.3 and have been an active member of 190revolution.com (woot!) BUT: i still need some help with this car as I AM new to the w124 lineup

Thanks for all your help/suggestions

More questions:

I'd like to replace all the fluids in the car as I'm not sure when they were last changed:

transmission fluid -> recommendations? (what brand etc.)
brake fluid -> again, what type/brand
antifreeze -> do i need to use MB stuff or is Penzoil (or w/e name brand) ok?
oil -> is full synthetic required/recommended or is regular oil ok
differential fluid (gear oil) -> should i change this? does it ever need to be changed?

My car didn't have a manual with it so I also need to know the capacities for the above fluids on a 94 e320:
oil change (w/ filter)
tranmission fluid (w/ filter)
coolant
brake fluid

Thanks guys!

congrats on your new purchase. I too went from a W201 to a w124. When you change the tranny fluid make sure you change the filter. You can buy the filter and gasket for like $20. You can use the same tranny fluid that they specify for chrysler. I think the capicity is a little less than two gallons. I would recommend that you buy a copy of Stu Ritter's W124 Owner's bible. All your questions are answered in it as well as how to perform all the maintenance. Well worth it if youplan on keeping your car for a while and doing all the routine service yourself. Depending on the mileage you might want to change the spark plugs as well. Be careful though as you have the notorious bad wiring insulation on that model. Definately use the MB brand coolant and make sure you check the top neck of the radiator. If you don't know what type of coolant you have in the car I would flush it and replace with the MB brand.

Hey, are you in Chicago? World Class is the name of a used car dealership near me, and I've been thinking of buying a Merc from them.

yes, that is the world class dealership in Downer's Grove. I do not live in Chicago but rather Madison WI. I found the car via autotrader.com

Transmission fluid - Dexron III, 7-8 qts. Drain torque converter together with pan. refill 4 qts. start engine, then refill remaining charge.

Brake fluid - DOT 4.

Antifreeze - dealer or Zerex G 05 (same thing, but cheaper). System capacity is 10 qts.

Oil - regular or synthetic. We're in the same climate with the same car... I use 5W-30 winter, 10W-30 summer. The crankcase takes 7 qts - not 7.5 qts... MB made this change a while back.

Differential fluid - I believe 80W-90 is specified, but hard to find because it's a European specification. Anything similar should work. Somewhere between 1-2 qts are needed. This is one fluid you'll want to go with synthetic. It is critical to remove the fill plug first before removing the drain plug.
