Forget About AMG. R129 Bumpers On W124 WILL DO !!!!

Guys....I just order front and rear bumpers from R129 to my W124. I bet, you thinking how can you put different size bumpers in place of my E320. Well, the trick is that they're actually going on the original bumpers. It's kinda bumper on bumper and I bet I already lost you but I'll show you the pictures, soon. They're probably making them right now and they will be sent out from Germany in about a week or so. The price? $500 with fog lights and similar look to what you see on these pictures below.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ayphotohosting
or this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

It's some kind of tuning company that does that...well, the results will come soon.....I hope these bumpers will get here in one piece....knowing DHL and their careless carriers ( no offense to anyone )....but my experience with these people says a lot. Oh... and one more thing. In two weeks I'll show you the pictures with my brand new RED LEATHER headliner. I'm not sure about the seats yet because the company I'm dealing with M&M Auto Glass & Upholstery in Midlothian, IL have enough of product for the headliner and the rest has to be put on special order. Well, will see what will come first....seats or headliner, seats or headliner...will see. Later guys. - Jack -

W124's
I think it looks alright in my honest opinion. Just looks like a bulkier AMG GenI body kit.

It don't look half bad at all !! ...was this a bolt-on mod or does it involve major body shop skills? The SLs seem much wider than a regular W124s.

Looks good, I would've opted for that since it's in Poly not Fiberglass like Wald

hmm, I don't know, I kind of like the original W124 factory bumper myself.

Make sure you post before and after pics.

I hope it works out for you, Though I am not a big fan of how the r129 bumpers look on the w124, too rounded and I am not a big fan of the lack of definition in the impact section, I think it will look good. It's just not my taste for my personal car.

I didn;t know the erebuni kit wouldn;t work on a 94-95, there is no difference apart from the hood, trunk lid and headlights body wise between 94-95 and pre 94 models as far as I know.

In anycase, for the erebuni kit, you have to remove the bumper supports to make it fit any w124, that goes for all their kits, so I would bet it would be able to be put on any w124 as long as it is not a 500e/e500.

BTW, my bodyshop guy, who used to install all the kits from CEC and several other tuners, said that even the lorinser and bmw kits etc all needed work to make them fit right, they were not simple paint it and put it on, but required filling and adding of material to make them line up and fit right. So he stopped doing ti because it took too much of his time, and my guy does concours body work, some of the best I have seen, he can even make his own body parts with his stamping machine.

I don;t think any kit fits 100% perfect unless it came from the factory installed at the factory. They all need a bit of massaging to fit properly.

Same here Ash, but isn't the front bumper from Wald's have very little ground clearance on our cars especially when lowered? too much $$$ for my blood.

no ashman.... I've order front and rear AMG R129 bumpers cut to fit W124 from Germany with fog lights for $500 (yes, they're made out of fiber glass, but so is original AMG body kit in early models ...atleast that's what I heard).

if they are fiberglass be prepared to do quite a bit of work to make them fit right...

For instance, on the fiberglass kits I have seen that were replicas, bumper supports had to be removed and lots of filling and priming and adding of material to make them look and fit right were needed.

I know this because thats what I had to do with my front and rear bumpers.

But love how it looks so I don;t mind.
