First Thread! 124 whell/lowering dilema! what would you do??
Hello, this is my first thread, after stumbling across this great forum during a yahoo search.
My dilema is this, I have a 1994 E320 coupe, and wish to upgrade the stock wheels/tyres.
Now from what ive found out 18's will fit, BUT I would not be able to lower it.
However I could fit 17's, and lower by about 1".
Now, if I go 18's I can have split rims (amg replicas), but in 17's Id have to go with monoblocks.
So what would you do?
18's split rims, but without the 1"lower OR
17's mono, with a 1" drop?
thnaks guys

You're wrong. You can still lower you car with 18" wheels.
17" Monoblocks are played out, don't even go for those. Depending on what springs you get, all you will need to do is get a different size spring pad to accommidate for the 18" wheels.
Anyways, 1" lower? What shocks and springs were you planning on getting?

i have a 124 93 ce lowered a bit. i have the 17" monoblocks and if u search i am trying to rid myself of them or restyle them with color or a good polish job. u can put any wheel that is for a c, e, slk, or clk on your ride. its all about the lug diameter. 18's will fit like chris said but you must be careful with tire selection. i went to big once and hammered one of my fenders in beverly hills on a driveway apron. i also believe it is recommended you have the fenders rolled by a pro.
search the forums here there are several articles on lowering and wheel and tire combos.
btw search all the posts i have made and u will see pics of my ride with 17" monoblocks and a lowered ce.
