I posted this at benzworld too but I figured I'd put up here as well:
I was thinking about this today... is it possible to buy the full headlight assembly from another car and fab it up to use in my car? Like use new Range Rover headlights and harnesses and all that crap? But not necessarily Range Rover ones. Basically any big headlights with HIDs. I photoshopped a picture to see what it might look like and I really like it!
Let me know if you know anything about the wiring or pretty much anything about this. Plus, if you have a friend with a '03+ RR, if you could measure their headlights so I can even know if it's possible with them that would be great. Thanks a lot!

It's TOTALLY possible! in fact I have thought of this myself just a couple of months ago but with Audi lights. The question is why?? To be different and have a TRUE custom mod? I say GO FOR IT!! But if it's just for the HID's then just buy the HID kit/parts and convert your lights, way cheaper and same lighting.
Back in 1990 I put Nissan Maxima headlights with 300E head light wipers (just for show) on my 86 Nissan truck. Point is you can do anything with enough money and time.

And e320newbie, I wouldn't call Audi and Land Rover parts ****ty but you're right in a sense, they are not the quality and fit of OEM Mercedes parts. However, not everything is done for its quality. A lot of people, as you know, put aftermarket wheels, body kits, performance parts etc. on their cars every day. It is all in the fun of being unique and customizing your car to your own personality.

Someone at benzworld linked me here: http://kamran1860.tripod.com/n_xenon.htm
I'm trying to get in touch with him to get English instructions/info on it. He did a great job.

If you can make it work go for it. But I think the Range Rover lights are too big...Wasn't there a Russian member that converted his W124 lights to hold the W211 projectors? That looked pretty hot.

lol Anyway, he gave me the English version: http://kamran1860.tripod.com/n_xenon_e.htm and after reading it, it seems to be a lot more work and money than I originally thought. But I still want to do it. I want projectors!

Well here i got again with my ideas! LOL This was a mod i was going to do but i do not want to cut any part of my mb and make it look like those hondas with lexus lights! Anyways Im talking about using jeep cherokee lights because the have the same shape and not a lot of welding and molding is required but If I was you I wouldn't even touch the lights you have now.

Oh yeah i forgot you will need to cut half of the jeeps lights to make them fit corectly so they won't look too big and I'll show you how to wire them up. If you really want to mod your car out then contact me and I will help you on finding the correct lights. Here in long beach and wilmington it is the capital of body shops and salvage yards! I did a mod on my front bumper that i will show you guys when we meet. My benz is a work in progress so is still under construction. Im alway open to new ideas! I agree mercedes part on mercedes but after you mod the jeep lights you won't know where they came from so i'll look like a whole different car.

Look at these im going to make some calculations and see how much work these take and if not a lot then they'll go on my benz. The only thing is that you can only use these on mercedes with the older style lights.

That blends in pretty well and most people probably wouldn't notice it's not stock headlights on first glance... good luck with the Jeep headlights. Keep us posted on your progress.
I, however, have decided to buy a bi-xenon set and do what KIN did here http://kamran1860.tripod.com/n_xenon_e.htm . You'd be surprised at how cheap I'm finding full bi-xenon projector sets... as low as about $200 for used ones. There is something you can help me with though YNVDIZW124. You said how LB is the capital of salvage yards... since I don't know any around here (although I'm sure plenty exist) if you could find a pair of W211 headlight assemblies (any condition, they can be completely destroyed as long as the rings around the projector lense are in good shape) then let me know. Most of the bi-xenon sets don't come with the rings and the W211 ones look nice. Anyone else too if they know anyone with busted W211 lights let me know. Or if anyone from the east coast knows of a good salvage yard that would be helpful too. Thanks!

That's not my benz it's a pic i cut and pasted but mines is black not tan. This pic is just to show what you can do to your headlights and as for the w211 headlights the russian guys lights look really ugly !! I would just keep your stock ones! Please don't *** up your benz because it looks nice already!

lol I know it's not yours. I can tell it's fake because the headlight wipers are cut off lol. I was saying it would look good if you did it. And I appreciate your criticism but I really want projectors. I think what makes his look a little weird to some people are the black painted reflectors. With the stock silver look I think it will be more appealing and not stand out so much.

is not criticism im just giving my opinion! You can do whatever you want to your car and if that's what you like then go for it. Also your going to have to find another set of lights because your stock ones will not do! For HID or Xenons the lens has to be clear and yours are not. Just look at the lens of the russian guy they are clear in the middle so that's why the work for him but not for you.
