New Guy
Hello, I just bought a 92 300E Sportline Benz, could u guys give me any specs about the car as far as performance? Hp? Tourque? Quarter mile time, etc? Why does it take a while for the car to responde after I have pushed the gas pedal, is there something I should be worried about or is it normal? Thanx a lot.
Mercedes-Benz offered an option called "Sportline" for the W201 and W124 chassis cars. This option was available in the North American market for the 1992-93 model year 190E 2.6, 1992-93 300E/300CE and 1993-95 E320/E320 Coupe. The option package included Sport Seating, wider low-profile wheels and tires, quick ratio steering, lowered ride height and a specially tuned suspension.
The MercedesShop team has done the research to identify all the parts necessary to convert a 300E/E300 to Sportline suspension specifications. In addition, we have sourced the OE parts and can provide the entire kit through PartsShop for around $1,350. These parts include the following:
Front Springs
Front Struts
Front Sway Bar
Inner Bushings
Outer Bushings
Lower Control Arm Bushing Kits
Rear Springs
Rear Shock Absorbers
Rear Sway Bar
Rear Bushings
Rear Sub-Frame Mounts
The M103 3.0 liter inline 6 engine in the 1986-1992 300E's displaced 2962cc's or 180.8 cubic inches. While in SOHC 2 valve per cylinder trim it made 177 horsepower @ 5700rpm and 188 lb-ft of torque @4400rpm.

You most likely have have a 3.0 model like mine and others here on this board.
Yeah, our cars start in second gear. It'll start in a lower gear when you push down on the kick down button behind the gas pedal.
There is a kit out there from bergwerks that would always make you car start in first gear, but since they closed down, I'm not sure if you can get it anymore but I would like to get it.

Tony, you still have that removed?
Is the plug located by the power steering resevoir? Someone taped the ends together, so I wasn't sure if that was the right one I was about to take out.
I thought you get bad gas mileage too.

to open the gas cover, make sure your door are not locked. if they are locked theres a trigger that keeps the gas cover locked too. so, unlock the doors and push on the right side in. it will open with ease.
Open your doors and push on top of it. I would think you would figure this one out by now and the resistor mod f%cked up my gas because i do most city driving and gave me like 18mpg! The only reason i would take it off is if i wanted to race someone on the freeway this **** makes you car go FAST!!! but i have my mustang for racing since i reeeaaallly don't like to brake expensive stuff on my mb!
