I'm actually in the market right now for a full Alpine system, including the headunit, ipod adapter, front component speakers, rear speakers, 4 channel amp, 1 12" sub with box. Can't wait to get it!
Good luck with all of your projects.
and wow.... that is very nice. i wish i could see that. and i thought you couldn't just replace the shift knob?? i thought it was a complete replacement.... oh well. NICE!!!! THe alpines work great, sound great, and are top quality thats for sure. For my own personal car I prefer pioneer myself. Though I am the type that doesn;t care to have a tv in his car, I prefer to just have good sound, and I don;t need a screen for that.
2 10's and a 15? thats goign to be seriously loud. I hope you are going to dynamat the whole car, because it's goign to rattle like mad. The bumper and the chrome trim on the bumper is also going to rattle like mad.
Are you going to add a dual battery setup? I plan on adding a dual battery setup in my car just because I have an extra optima bluetop doing nothing...
I'm not a fan of those rims, but if you like them then thats what counts the most.
The compustar is a pretty nice alarm from what I have heard, I have a few friends who have them and like them.

tell me if that's a good system. Anyways, I've noticed depending on the amp, it can make the biggest sound difference in your system. What kind of amp are you utilizing right now?
kenwood headunit found on slickdeals - 80
2 12" kenwood subs and ported box from property auctions - 75
4 gauge cables - 80
pioneer amp from my bro - free
misc - 20
and it sounds great to me
esp. since i wanted more experience on how to hook it all up rather than trying to go all out and buy the best stuff.
Like I said you will have to sound mat the bumper and the chrome trim onthe bumper those are going to rattle like mad. Friend had 2 15's in his e320 and had the whole trunk sound matted and that was the part that was rattling the most, and he had to remove the bumper and the chrome trim and sound deaden that part. It still rattled but not as bad after that. It was a pain to do.
I think my system sounds great, like I said I prefer to not have a screen in the car, because I just listen to music, and my pioneer unit sounds great to me.
My setup is:
MB Quart 6.5" in the front doors, JBL Twetters in the dash, Infinity reference 5.25" seperates in the rear, 12" JL Audio 12w3D4 sub in a small box, Fosgate 800.2 Amp bridged mono and the sub wired at 2 ohms, lightning audio 300.4 Amp for the speakers 2 farad cap. I spent a lot of time messing with allthe levels and frequencies, and am constantly adjusting it, but I have it adjusted so it sound pretty darn good even without the sub running, then I add the sub.
You can get great sound without spending much money, In total I spent less than $800.00 for everything, the biggest cost was the headunit. the rest I either got dirt cheap or free.
It also helps if you install yourselfAshMan
I spent on my system like $1500 just to F#$%ck up my car. This much bass made my car not run at all, made my map light fall all the time, windows came off their rails, and made everylittle part in my car loose. Be carefull because i did have ear damage and could not hear for a week!
