Question Oil Recommendation & Mystery Thing

Anyone know the best oil brand/viscosity to use on 300Es?

Also, I notice there is a little hole up by the sunroof control and light switch. There is a hole and I was wondering if it was a thermometer? See picture.

Thanks.

Better Picture

Sorry about the bad picture, this one should be better. This is from a G320, but it looks exactly the same in the 300E and I don't know what it is. It could be a space filler for all I know. But I doubt those German engineers would do something like that.

Also, it's kind of stupid, but anyone know how to fix one of the bulbs behind the seatbelt warning light? The right side isn't as bright, I believe its because the light is out. I know, I'm a perfectionist.

mystery square with slats....

That square area with the little slats forward of the sunroof button is the automatic climate control interior temerature sensor. If you are as much a perfectionist as me, try blowing real hard into it to clear away the dust that has built up on the sensor inside. I am not sure if it makes the sensor more acurate by removing the dust, but it is worth doing. -- Mikey
