i heard about removing the r16 resistor which supposedly removes the retard of the timing. but then i also heard that after removing it, since there is no more resistor, it sets itself to the slowest retard. which in that effect, gives your worse mpg and hp which the trick claims to give you more. i haven't tried it yet since im skeptical and gas here in california isn't that great but still expensive . i haven't heard that thing of removing a resistor to start in first gear. if you really want to start i first, why not move to second, wait a moment, then move it back to drive???
