H&R setups please post

Getting my w124 h&r's this weekend to replace the w202 vogtlands that have caused me countless heartburns. Would like to know what spring pad configurations you guys are using and pics would help a lot. I understand with the h&r's the rear actually drop more so a higher pad in the rear? Ive seen one of the forum members cars running on no spring pads and it looks great. I would just feel more comfortable with pads though with the metal on metal contact. Thanks

I have H&R springs and yes the back does drop more on just springs. I had no pads at first and with 2 people in the back my 17" (215/45/17) tires were hitting the rear panels on a left/right turn. I installed some pads but don't remember which # ones, but my back is a little higher then the front cause of the weight balance, so now when i have 2 people in the back the car is even leveled.

I have 2 bump front and 3 bump rear, and the rear is still to low.... My springs are neuspeed, but are simply rebranded H&R's Neuspeed used to make H&R's springs and these were most likely left over stock that H&R did not buy from them.

I'll be changing mine out to oem sportline springs most likely sooner than later.

My rear needs to be about an inch higher. and I cant put any thicker spring pads on there.

There are two different part numbers for H & R springs.
Stage Chassis / Drivetrain Approx. F/ Lowering Approx. R/ Lowering Part Number Sug. Retail
Sport Spring W124 no 4WD or conv 1.5 1.3 29569-1 $ 389.00 Kit
Sport Spring W124 no 4WD or conv 1.3 1.3 29569-2 $ 389.00 Kit

Personally I'd still recommend MB Sportline springs.

Running a car without spring pads is just crazy!

Sportline who?

I am happy with my Eibach springs. The ride is actually quite comfortable and yet it is very stable when cornering. I have a subtle 1-inch drop, which I like very much. I don't want to go back to the stock ride height. My car was way too high before I added the springs. Based on the pictures that I saw, the Sportline conversion didn't lower the car at all. That is what stopped me from choosing them in the first place. I wasn't looking to slam the car, but I was looking for a slightly lowered appearance. Otherwise, the slightly narrower sidewalls of my +1 set-up would have been dwarfed by the huge gap between the tire and the fender.

Who do you think makes the MB Sportline springs? I wonder if it is like the shocks being made by Bilstein or Boge. I just think it would be funny if the Sportline springs were made by Eibach. I suppose they could also be made by H&R or Vogtland, although I know for sure that Eibach made some of the AMG tuner parts.
