Rear Deck Cutting!

hi,

im getting my rear deck cut out where the medical kit is, and im just wondering what kinda bass increase am i lookin at? i just need reviews basicly. im also side mounting my amps with a small false wall on each side, its gonna look tight. and thank fully ive been so lucky as to trade for a tint job on an 05 eclipse ( ouch) the car is a ***** but it wont cost me a thing to do so im pretty excited.. ive also lined up another window tint job, the guys gonna install all 4 of my coils that ive had for ever!!!! and ill do another freebie and its gonna be a cash savings month, but then again my broken windsheild and flat tire wasnt pretty, lo pros are F ing $$$$ oh well. have a good one peoples im gonna go enjoy this hot sunny day and my freshly cleaned benz! with a broken windsheild..... damn haha

you will get a measurable increase in bass (if you have a box in the trunk) but you will also get road noise and tire noise and might even hear the fuel sloshing around in the tank. if you play your stereo pretty much all the time, you will notice the bass, but not much else.


all that is hypothesis. i havent cut mine but i surmise,.....

I cut a 4": hole in mine which was enough...

One could cut it out completely... but as stated you will likely get more road noise and such from within the trunk as the trunk is not as insualted as the cabin for noise from outside.

What kind of tool do you use to cut the hole?

im not cuttin it myself. i guess a sawzall or a air cutter... nothing to big ofcourse

Tin snips worked but the hole wasn't clean. if I was to do it again, I would use an air saw or jig saw with metal blade on it

i have mine cut in the 500- its noticeable sound increase.
