Cool problem with '94 E320

hello!
just found you all,and not a moment too soon. my pride and joy is a '94 E 320
sedan with 122k on it. Question is, i'm starting to get some free-play in my shift lever.it seems loose, kinda clunky, but it still shifts fine. cant imagine what it is. i'm puzzled. whats going on????

Probably your shifter bushings...not to worry, it's a "relatively" inexpensive repair.

Talking problem with '94 E320

thanks chappy !
went to the dealer, picked up the two nylon bushings ($3.96) plus some tips on the install.went to my mech 'round the corner.
the job cost me $106. shifter is back to normal !!!
(that included a cabin air filter change-out i picked up online for $1.50)
all is right with the world.....there is still hope !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lots of cars
I just don't get how the $3.96 came out to $106. You should have done it yourself.
