maybe its an optical illusion. irl they look huge. a buddy of mine offered to machine me custom center caps on his cnc machine. alas i have no idea what i should do. i could do an amg one. a brabus one or just about anything one can think of. i was gonna paint the center caps black and then hightlight the "B" in red.

i think i will go for a month b4 i really get a handle on what i want. i LOVE the rims HATE the tires. the guy that had these b4 really but a nasty wear pattern in the front tires. this thing drives all over the place and i just had it aligned before i bought the tires.

you crack me up.

i had to go for a change. those wheels have been on there for 12 years. it may look like a nascar car or even not like a benz but it is a good look. wait til you see it in person.

btw my rims were not hammers that is ashman. i had the amg monoblock aero 2's which are for sale with tires.

here is the really sad part i am thinking of NOT rebadging the car with anything. its sooooo clean now. i have a dilemma. i like amg but the ///amg missing from the rear is smooth and clean. i guess i could have worse problems like those in the south.

I second the vote on putting the AMG's back. If not, at least get the lip on the black wheels polished. The solid black wheels take away from the beauty of the car. Or maybe you can refinish the wheels in red w/ a polished lip??

You're right, I'm not in Cali, so I really don't know what the style is over there. I still vote to keep it debadged though. I'm not saying I hate the rims, but a polished lip would give it the "look".

Good paint, but someone didn't use the buffer at the right speed. Another wetsand and buff can fix that though.

i don't think it needs to go to that far of an extreme.. from what i see, is all it needs is meguiars #83 followed by #80 with the proper use of a buffer. then your choice of wax.

you guys crack me up.

the car was supposed to go back for color sand and buff 3 weeks ago but i didnt get down to the painter. so when gas gets below 3 bux a gallon again i will make a trip to the painter for my color sand and buff that came with the paint job.

btw i am gonna need tires. anyone got prices on tires? 18's 235/40 18. i used to run sumitomo htrz2's and they were about a buck each with my wholesale discount.

I didn't do much at all, because I thought my car was already very nice

I'm sorry but I have to admit that I liked your car better as a "before". I just love my azure blue car so much, I can't imagine painting it a different color. I see you also used contrasting color mats inside your car, so I guess you are just a two-tone guy. I guess the chrome thing, inside an out on your car, is also a matter of personal taste that just doesn't agree with me either. You are absolutely right when you say that "the way I see we all have different tastes". It really doesn't matter what I like, as long as you love your car. You go for it Smokiesman.

While I'm at it, I guess I also have to say that I absolutely hate AMG_Eric's new black wheels. Something just doesn't look right about them on his car. Maybe a polished lip would add the little something that is missing. I know black wheels are in style right now, but I am sorry to say that somehow I just don't think it is working for AMG_Eric. I should also say that his car looked awesome before he changed the wheels, so he certainly isn't all bad.

Whoops, I think I may have jumped to conclusions. I looked at Eric's large photos and the shine on the black wheels made them look MUCH better. Maybe they do look much better in person.

Just wheels, a slightly lowered suspension, and a black grille insert on my car.

Smile I like everyone that loves their W124

Hi Smokiesman,

I think I did sugar coat it for you, because I definitely don't want to fight with you. As I remember, you and I talked about this once before. It is just hard for me to look at your car, which was almost identical to mine, and not get concerned about the fact that you changed it to a 2-toned version. I just love my azure blue W124, so it bugs me sometimes to see the way you changed yours. Don't get me wrong, I think your car looks very nice, even the chrome looks nice, but I just preferred it the way it was before.

I wonder if AMG_Eric is going to blast me too.

As I said above, it really doesn't matter what I like, as long as both of you love your cars. You guys go for it. I don't want any enemies, even on the world-wide-web.

Ken from PA

I took a look at a Debbie Downer clip. I sure hope that isn't me. I thought I was the life of this party. I am always the one with a smile on my face. That just couldn't be me. I think it must be one those guys in that new W124 club in southern California.

Actually I am just trying to be a little funny myself. For me, this whole thing is really just about having some fun with other people that love their W124s.
