nice car. have you changed your upper and lower wiring harness', they are a big achilles heel to the V-8's.

you'll have to come to the all german car show, every august in dublin.

regarding yellow H3 bulbs:the only way to get absolutely full-tint/ french yellow is to transplant yellow glass covers from the u.s. lights.

the tinted yellow bulbs don't "appear" [to the human eye] very yellow. expect disapointment if you buy the nokya or piaa all-weathers. the light color is yellow and is easily seen by driving up to a light colored wall and looking. when viewed "off-angle" they appear bluish.

i am in the lighting business, www.mckeige.com . i used to sell the narva 55 watt h3 bulbs, they developed some serious quality concerns, i had to quit selling them.

i have some philips, rally gold [the good ones!] made in germany YELLOW H3, 85 watt bulbs. they are very yellow and a bit pricey.

the best way is the fog light transplant, they're always french yellow then.

see what i mean

The blue lights are my 5 watt city lights....I just put in blue lights instead of white. That pic is with fog lights on and headlights off. Those little lights definetly get people's attention, especially at dusk.

Luckily the wiring harness' had already been replaced when I bought the car (will the replacement harness' ever go bad, or were they redeigned to not degrade over time?)

Is the picture you posted of the phillips rally gold H3's you were talking about? They look pretty nice. Is that with the transplanted fog covers or without?

really nice 400E, such a big difference from when you first got the car... but yeah i have the nokya yellow for the fogs and i am pretty disappointed in them. at first i wanted to have the fogs and corner lights match the same yellow color so i can just have those 2 on like on my icon but it didn't work and i gave up trying to find a right combo...

lego

picture is daytime shot after yellow cap transplant.

there are 2 wire harness' that need replaced, upper main and lower one.

lower one attaches to starter, alternator, these get very bad as well.

have you ever changed all your fuses?

I used 5W LED's for those blue city lights. It's really easy to do, since the Euro lights are already set up with a place to put city bulbs. I have mine wired so they come on when I have the parking lights on, but I think I might change that so they come on when the car is on...like daytime running lights. The nice thing about LED's is that there are tons of different colors. I liked the deep blue color the best.

And I don't remember the specific name of the LED's...so you'll just have to go hunting for 'em. I ordered mine off the internet, for really cheap.

I'll eventually get some better night time pics to post here.

ebennz- That yellow H3 cover swap is looking more and more intriguing...I just might do it. I checked my records, and my car has had both wiring harness' replaced (I think my car would have all kinds of problems if they were still the original oness with 170,000 miles on them). When I got the car I changed all the fuses, so that's been taken care of.

i made mine white, i think the yellow is ugly. thats jut my opinion though. so, i can only put in the leds if im running the euro headlights? ughhh, if i had money, id buy the euros....and springs, and pretty much everything else my car needs. how much for your particular euros?

No, the LED's I got were not specifically sold to be used in headlights. They were just LED's. The website you found looks pretty interesting though. (I doubt I'd like the always-on feautre...I'd just wire them to turn on with the car or on with the parking lights. The ones in the pictures on that site look a little brighter than mine, but they're also kind of expensive. I want to see pics of your car once you get LED's!
