they are cool, i wish i had one.
there may a have been a european option for it, i don't think itwas available here.
i believe the only options for '92-'93 124.034's were lsd [later asr], orthopedic seat backs, cell phone, 10 disc cd changer.
i think it is very difficult to try to retrofit and believe it would have to be manual.

500E Signal Rot
Although I have never seen the shade on a 400E/E420, I have seen them on several 300CE's, a 89 and a 90, so I know it was an option on other W124's aside from just the 500e/E500

FWIW, Mercedes' "official" name for this is "Electric roller blind for rear window."
Installation, parts, etc. are covered by SA 56656
WIS installation instructions are numbered 68.1.
The "parts kit" is p/n B6 69 1070
Blind itself is numbered by color of interior.
MB insists it must not be installed if there is no right-side outside mirror.

My 1991 300E had one. I liked it so much that I ordered one on my W211. What is even nicer now is that the W211 has shades on the rear doors too.
I special ordered that rear sunshade on my W124 along with pass. side airbag, telescoping steering wheel, heated seats and ASR traction control. The car had a lot of options that were not common for a W124.

85 190E, 92 400E
i finally found a guy thats parting out his 92 600se... so i contacted him about his sunshade, he has one.. but the 600se is built on the w140 chassis.. would this fit in my car (i have a 92 400E built on the w124 chassis). how much do u think i should pay for this thing?
