Dash Vent Question

If I were to Make the blem door, the one that lets the cool air blow through the center vents, Stay Open All the time. Would it also then blow the warm air from the heater through the same center vents? My thinking is that the center vent only Opens when the temp is Low enough. But if it were disconnected or propped open the warm air Could flow through.

Has anyone tried this? I am just sick of my right side being cold until the heater fully warms the Interior, 8-10 mins when it's 40 or below. I want the heater to blow through All the dash vents

Thanks,

Ron

why not just close the center vent? Even if you duct hot air into it you're stil blowing the same amount of hot air into the car, just through different vents. I really don't think that will warm your car up any faster. Why is your right side cold? Dou you have the vent on the right side open?

Cold air from center vent is to keep driver from falling asleep on long drives. Cool air on your face helps. A nice safety feature.

Yes the center vent is closed now. "If" warm air came out of the center vents it "could" warm up me, on the right side faster than the vent on the Far right of the dash can, Yes it is open. But i to chilly mornings I have the right one blowing to the rear, where my Daughter is in her car seat.

I have the left vent blowing on me, but it's no help for my right side. Once the car fully warms up, the interior temp is just fine everywhere. Just trying to make this happen faster.

I think the easiest thing is to crank your car up 5 minutes before you leave.

OK, here's the deal with the center vents. As previously mentioned, the center vent door on the blower case is designed to open *only* in cooling mode. You can override this by removing the door (flex it out of the blower case, carefully) and disconnecting the actuation linkage. Now, you'll get air out of the center at all times but you can still override it manually with the thumbwheel on the vent. This is a pretty common "temporary fix" for folks with a dead center vent vacuum actuator.
