good news, i found the resistor. it was a little round knob with a 2 on it. anyway, now that i took it out, i think a read somewhere that i need to disconnect the battery to let the ecu reset and recalibrate to having no retard. is this true?

im not sure about disconnecting the battery i never read of needing to do that, and i never did, but some people said they had used octane booster which is why i put mine back on because its too much of a hassle.

When I id it on my car I noticed no difference, well not true I noticed a difference at the gas pump, I got worse gas mileage, but no extra power from my seat o the pants meter...
Not sure if the resistor did anything at all.
But after having to replace my EZL unit last october, which was a major feat just finding the part used for $400.00 and not having to spend over $1500.00 on a reconditioned one, and finding out that it was on worldwide backorder if one wanted a new one, I'm not messing with that part of my engine compartment or ignition system.

I took mine out for awhile and noticed I got horrible gas mileage nor did I noticed any difference at all. Seems to be a big hype for nothing ...

I tried taking mine out too, but I didn't notice anyhting different. I didn't have it out long enough to experience a loss in gas mileage. I think some people take it out, and they think it makes their car faster, but it really is doing nothing. Kind of like a placebo.

i havent noticed that much of a difference either. only things i noticed happened are that my car rolls out a bit longer, which is nice. and i maintain speed on hills without having to give more the engine more gas. and i feel that when im not accelerating i dont have to push down the gas as far. so far nothing negative. well see how i do on gas, although my reading on this tank will not be accurate as the car has been hesitating and stuttering lately(not just when i took out the resistor
