Wheel Size
Does anybody know what size 17 " wheels will fit a 92 400E ? I want to look on Ebay but the offset worries me and if I buy them and they don't fit I'm kinda screwed. What other MB model wheels will fit the 400E? Any help...thanks

The offset is important. The smaller the value compared to the original value the more the new wheels will stick out and have the increasing chance to rub against the fendors in extrem situations. The ET (German abbreviation for Einpresstiefe) value is measured in mllimeters and describes the offset from rim center of the mounting plane of the rim. The next is the bolt circle diameter which is given by the hubs, and the width of the rims is as important to avoid to stick out to much (as mentioned above). Finally the combination of tire size and rim size controls the circumference of the wheel, which shall be within a 5% tolerance to stock, in order to keept the speedo/odometer readings in tolerance.

anything between et40 17x7 and 17x8 and et35 but et38 17x7.5 would be perfect also 225 45 17 or 40 should be ok also no s-class or cl-wheels since they have a thicker 14mm bolt.
