Unhappy Help w/ Oil Change 1995 E320 Cabriolet!!

Help, doing first oil change on our 1995 E320 Cabriolet that we recently purchased and for the life of me I can't find the oil filter! I have the removal tool and a repacement filter, but can't find it under the car (I removed the engine protection plate).

If you have any ideas please let me know asap!

Thanks
Scott

Scott,
Be aware that the 104 eng. in your car has had a Tech. Service Bulletin from Benz that there has been an oil capacity change.
The original spec. was 7.5 l [ 7.9qt ] and the TSB has changed that to 7 l [7.4qt ] , w/filter..

Benz is recommending changing these specs in the owners manuals .
Another TSB has followed for dip stick reading modification.
This states that the ideal reading is now 1/2 way between the marks w/eng at operating temp.

I think this latter TSB is geared toward those using the suction system when changing oil , [ less llikely to know what is remaining in pan, so the first TSB is no help here ...]
