Difficulty of replacing window motor???

Hey guys, I'm going to replace my rear driver side window motor. I've gone through the checklist. Fuse and switch are good so I'm pretty sure its the motor. I'd like to know from folks who have dealt with this, how difficult is it to replace? I don't want to take everything apart and realize how deep the ***** really is.

man, I'm also dying to know or hear from someone who has done this already...I have a rear driver side window that just won't go up or down and is stuck open (about an inch from from the top)

A little fight here and there but doable.

Make sure you use proper technique to remove door panel to avoid breaking the hooks.

You'll replace a unit consisting of motor, frame, cable, etc.

it is very easy. needs a little fangling to get the big unit through a small hole. other than that very easy. and rember the door cover lifts straight up!!! do not pull towards you (i wrecked the bottom front corner doing this ). the only other problem that there may be is lining the door cover into all the holes when your are done. also the wiring may need to be changed. there is a diffrene beween older and newer models (mine is a 93' and i replaced it with a 89') really easy wiring job. other than all that really easy

On earlier models...so far an 86 and 87, the wiring in the B pillar is where the fault is. Try hooking up a 12v connection before removal to check that its really bad and not a wireing issue. I replaced mine as well and it was functional until I broke it during removal. That is one of the issues I have to look into with mine.

It is a fairly easy job. Hey if you get a little confused, just pull the opposite door panel & compare your work. Pick up extra door panel clips while your ordering parts, they're cheap, & if one breaks you'll be glad you have them.
