How Much would an Engine Transplant cost ?

Say if I found a good 500E in a junkyard, how much do you think it 'll cost to swap it into my e-class .

Thanks.

It will be cheaper to sell your car a buy a 500E. Or easier to rebuild the junkyard 500E than to try and swap it. the frame, transmission tunnel, steering, suspension, brakes, rear subframe, driveshaft, wheelwells and inner fenders are all different.

Engine Transplant

I purchased a preowned 400E that the original owner did just that. Keep in mind that he was using a 400E so the M119 fit was not an issue. The engine was purchased for $9700 (completed reworked and rebuilt). The car was upgraded with the 500E front brakes, front suspension, associated harnesses, etc for a total of approx $7000 extra (including the cost of transplanting the engine). I don't even have any idea how much he spent doing the body but he also installed the 500E body panels needed to make the 400E look like a 500E. In the end the project was nice but I agree with the previous poster that it would be easier buying a nice 500E, then you get the 5 liter V8 with the appropriately designed suspension and beautiful bodywork!
