LED Tail lights installed.
Couldn't wait for the weekend to install
The left is the regular tail light, the right is the LED light. No bulb out indicator either, although on the drivers side, because of the rear fog light, the connector is different then the passenger side, had to take it apart and plug the wires in one at a time.

Thanks 2phast you always get everything i want before i buy it..wish i had the 500e too....that's good for me because i get to see how it looks before i buy it....ohh is that the fog light or the brake light?....did you think of using the stock lens and modding it so you could use the led panel? that would make it look better than the crystal clear...

What you see on the right is the regular running lights, the brake lights are a bit to the right and are just as bright. There is no provision for the OE rear fog light, so I just taped off the extra wire for it.
I like these lenses better than what I had on the car.

I remember someone once saying that they thought that the LED's might affect the cruise control, notice any problem with this or the failed lamp indicator due to the different draw in power?

The turn signals on 2phast's lights appear to still be standard bulbs, and the turn signals aren't part of the cruise control circuit, i was refering to the brake lights, which might "trip" the cruise control module to shut off when you apply your brakes.

Yea, no worries. Updated the site to include all the pictures I currently have, still need to get some brake light pictures, but I need a 2nd set of feet for that!
No issues with bulb out indicators and no problems with the cruise control.
Although I have not tested the rear fog light, so not sure if the bulb out indicator will light up if it turn it on.

1. Ebay.
2. Great light output and great build quality and fit
3. Passenger side is plug and play, drivers side is not, you need to order a passenger side 6 pin connector, then take your 8 pin connector apart (on the drivers side) and move all the pins (except the rear fog light) over to the new 6 pin plug.
Only complaint is the fact that your existing back cover will not fit on these lights, leaving the rear and wiring exposed.

Nice light! i love them! So you say that the driver side has to be taken apart in order to make it work.. How long did it take you to re-do the pins?

The drivers side, tail light harness plug (8 pin) needs to be replaced with a passenger side 6 pin harness plug. Takes about 10 minutes max to replace the pins 1 to 1, then you leave out the rear fog light pin (you lose rear fog light cabability) and tape it up.
These lights probably are not legal in europe or countries that require a rear fog light, so keep that in mind.

Actually, on my 300E I checked it and it is 6 pins on the driver side.
2phast, maybe it is 8 pins for the 500E's only.
And, my 300E has no rear fog, in fact I never even heard of such thing.
So I think it is truly plug and play for 300E's.
2phast are your LED's made by Eagle Eyes and did you buy them off symauto on eBay??
And where will you get replacement LED bulbs when the lights burn out?
I want to get these lights too, but only symauto is selling them but they won't allow people from Canada to buy them, so I am out of luck.
Anyone know where I can get them from?

The 300E's do have them for sure. I've had 2 of them & both of them had it. so do the 400E's. If IM not mistaking all the w124's have them?

AS Design,
where are they on the 300E and how do you turn them on? what type bulbs do the rear fogs take?
I do see an empty round socket on both the drivers and passenger's side that has a place for a bulb on the assembly(located on the inner side towards license plate).
But i checked my owner manual and it had all the bulbs listed, no mention of a rear fog. It also had no bulbs for the 2 round sockets listed above.
2phast has a picture of the assembly at http://www.2phast.com/500e/default.htm (scroll down about 1/3 down page passenger side, and 1/2 down page for the driver's side)

Rear fog light--required in Europe--is driver-side only. That means right side in UK, left side about everywhere else. This confuses some into thinking there are two rear fog lights.
It's the bottom inner-most section of rear light/lens.
Activated by 2nd click pulling out the light switch. Light in light switch illuminates.
Uses same 21W bulb as turn signal, brake light, backup light, etc.
Deleted on USA models until '92 or so.
Can be retrofitted to earlier models. Just run wire from light switch to rear light. Connect a ground wire to light switch so bulb will illuminate. Probably need a bulb, too.
To do a "clean" installation, replace six-pin connector at tailllight with 8-pin connector. You'll need the bulb holder from a '92-on W124, of course--it has the bulb contact and wiring and the corresponding 8-pin connector. It's probably the only one now available from dealer--that's the case for wagons for sure, but of course wagons have 6-pin connector no matter what since no separate side clearance light.

If LED taillight or mirror fails on Mercedes 211, solution is whole new light.
Probably same for these.

My 300E, 190e and 500E all had a rear fog and 8 pin connector. Hard to say why yours does not, anyway don't worry about, its not required in the US unlike the UK which does require it.

I believe Mercedes version of a rear fog delete was to just remove the bulb, as that is how my 1989 300E was when I picked it up, all I needed to do was install a bulb. I was even considering installing a matching one on the passenger side, never got around to ordering a matching 8 pin connector, so never followed through with it.
