Head rest problems

So i was talking about how i fixed my passenger seat switch in another thread and everything was good. I went to go grab something from the store and my buddy tagged along and started messing w/my newly fixed seat. Two seconds later my headrest stopped working. Dont know what happened but it doesnt go up or down anymore. Seems like it came out of the track or whatever makes it move. Anyone know if the back of the seat can be removed for further inspection? How do i remove it, if possible? By the way...i can move the headrest manually and my buddy is not longer able to ride in the benz...lol

How did you fix your passenger seat switch?

My passenger seat is still stuck and will no more back and forth and it's pretty annoying. I'm looking to fix it sometime this week since I have time and on spring break obviously.

I checked all the fuses and etc too.

I haven't tried that yet - Would that be the main problem? I wonder if it could be the motor or something else.

press the button and put your ear up to the seat. Like on mine, you can hear the headrest motor running, i heard the cable connecting it is typical to break... i just need to find out how to get in there

All I did to fix my seat is replace the seat switch. Some parts of the seat worked while others didn't. The backrest would go down but not come back up and slowly random people would make it recline just a lil until it was too uncomfortable. It was just an easy swap of the seat switch.

It costed around $75.00 at this website:
http://autopartswarehouse.com/
They supposedly beat prices or matchprice but with the 5 items i bought through them, they really didnt do with everything. You can also find them here for around the same price:

things with and without wheels
On my car the drive's side head rest would not move so I took the seat cover on the back side off , two screws on the bottom of the seat and it slides down.It turned out to be a loose connection at the motor I hope this works on your model of E .

I didnt get very far that day b4 work...i moved it only about an inch and it couldnt move anymore. I tried again 2day and i got the same results. This time i got a half inch more but when i wanted to slide the back panel back up, it wont slide up. it just wrinkles the sides of the seats. Help..Was it that hard to take the back panel off, RobertG?

Everyting snaps off...Take the black surround around the inside door handle for more working space.

Then take off the seat switch buttons (headrest, backrest, bottom seat) and then take off the black surround that covers the seat switch; pull evenly on everyting u take off to lessen the chance of breaking anyting.

Now you'll need a Pillips ( + ) screw driver. Unscrew the two screws that hold the seat switch in place...Try and use a screwdriver that has a magnetic tip so that the screws wont fall between the door panel (almost happened to me)

Rest is very easy...carefully unplug one plug at at time and plug eac one onto corresponding sockets in new seat switch. Once your finished....put everyting back the way it was....do i really need to type the rest...lol
