Replacing ignition switch

I have been searching and can't find where anyone has replaced the electrical portion of the ignition switch. How hard is this procedure? I am thiking about attempting this weekend. Also does anyone where I can purchase the tool to remove the ignition tumbler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about the electrical portion but my igntion locked up on a late sunday at a gas station. Luckily i called the help number inside the lid of the mirror of the driver side sun visor. they came down and attempted to fix it but werent able to. i had my car towed to a mercedes dealership nearby
($80) and they started to fix it during the week. They took a whole mess of stuff apart to fix it like the steering cover, tumbler, and other stuff on the receipt that i cant understand. It ended up costing me $416. I definitely couldnt have afforded that so i talke with the guy and let him know that i was still in high school and had a part time job. he gave me a 20% discount and it came out to be $300 even. still i didnt have the money so my dad helped me out w/some but i still ended up paying him back after the fact. dont know if it helps you...but thats my story.
