if youve spent money on this car, it might be worth fixing.

i had mine repaired when my cousin crashed it. i your case it doesnt sound too bad. some front parts, wheel, maybe suspension. if the frame isnt bent you can fix it for about $2000 if you do the work yourself. of course i dont have pictures in front of me so i cant say that with authorirty.

lots of cars
That should cost less than 2k to fix...you can get away with not changing the fender but a used one should be $40-$50...paint another $100...front bumper around $100-$125....those wheels are common on ebay and should be cheap or $50 max for the rim...if you cracked the oil pan well that's about $200 for the labor and $100 for the oil pan but you have to check it first....radiator about $150...suspension can be redone and aligned for about $500....if the engine was not damage it should be around $1500 or less....you also would want to do some of the labor yourself...like installing the bunper and fender...also remove everything that is damages and make an inventory of all the parts your going to need and if you can find used replacements..

This was my car after it got hit by a truck for the second time..i fixed it for about $400

I had to change a broken sway bar link...I also changed the strut and did a 4 wheel aligment...the lower control arm should be around $250...also i suggest you change your front wheel bearings..

I just did the rear wheel bearing and it was $150 with parts...not a DIY...the front wheel bearing should be easy and are cheap too..

damn it !!!! sorry to hear about your loss my friend...and just recently you installed new speakers. that sucks. you see, that will be the ONLY problem i'll have after my car comes back from the body shop(complete paint job ). i think if i'll see a scratch on that thing i'll go ballistic....not mention gettin' my baby smashed by either me or someone else.

I think you're over reacting. Your car looks quite repairable. Before you make any drastic decisions sit down and give it some thought. Remember, they don't make 124s anymore.

hey norcal, hows it goin? i would love nothing more than to get it running again, but being only 17, its my dads final decision. even though ive done the research, and have found i can get teh parts i need for cheap, hes been stubborn in his decision to sell the car. im not happy about it at all, but i have to go with it

Sorry to hear, are you selling it outright or parting it out. If you're parting it I may be interested in some parts. Good luck, whatever your decision may be. At least try to get another MB.

id try to reason with dad if i were yo

its a safe car
in a smaller econocar who knows what would have happened to you. (this was my reasoning for lending my car to my cousin instead of my smaller, older BMW!)
its a reliable car (i think!)
replacing it with something else would cost about the same or more as repairing it

etc

could use perhaps

First that sucks. I am sorry!!1

I could use the front bumper tow cover and the bottom plastic plate that may be on the bottom of your engine..and of course any chrome interior or wood if it will fit my 1989 300E W124 .Thanks,
Dave

You've obvisouly gotten lots of feedback on this. I have to say, I've had two W124's and a W201 all totaled by somebody rear ending me. I ended up getting rid of all of them each time they were wrecked. Yes your car can probably be repaired, but W124's are fairly easy to find. I don't know if you're getting any money other than salvage value but I would start looking for a new car. Most W124's are so old now that it doesn't take much of an accident for an insurance company to total out the car. Save yourself the time, effort and aggravation of fixing your old car. It's a sad day when the wrecker pulls your baby off to the great scarp yard in the sky, but in the end it's just a car. You could easily find another W124 in as good of shape or better than your old car for not a whole lot of money. Just my opinion.

I think you should pick up that Diesel 300TD that was imported from Germany thats for sale on the board. Of course you'd have to arrange for transport because he's here in Cali (about 30 min. away from me) but I think it would be unique to see a modded diesel.
