fuel injector calibration
Has anyone sent their injectors to a shop to have them calibrated? I understand that in many cars the injectors do not spray an identical amount of fuel and having them calibrated will improve power as well as longevity of the engine because each cylinder is being "fed" the same amount of fuel as opposed to varying amounts of fuel in each cylinder. Fact or fiction?
What does it cost and who does it?

I have no personal experience, but search the internet. There are lots of places where you can mail your injectors to have them properly cleaned (ultrasonic with backflush), flow tested, and balanced so the injectors all squirt the same rate of fuel as a set. The going price is about $25 per injector.

One place that you can try is rc engineering. They have been doing this for years. You can also just buy new injectors

Wow, what a great site. I think the next time I have work done, probably at 90,000 miles, I'll have the injectors sent out for their 24 hour turnaround service. You can pour in all the "injector cleaner" solutions you want, but I'll bet it is rare to really clean them of all deposits AND have them all flowing at the same rate.
Thanks very much for the site address!
