"Clunk" when going from "R" to "D"

"Clunk" when going from "R" to "D"

When i back up in reverse, stop, then go to drive, i sometimes get a "clunk"

usually happens on the first star of the day.

Any ideas?

check your driveshaft flex disc. W124's have two, a front and rear. They look like a rubber donut with a steel band wrapped around them. They go on each end of the propellor shaft. They help cushion the initial torgue jolt that occurs when you put your car in drive.
