w124 suspension
I can't find anyone that carries Bilstein Sports for my 300e 2.8. I can find them for other w124s, but they say they don't make them for the 2.8 any more. I found someone online that says the sports that fit the 300td are the same. Does that sound right? It seems like all of the non-4-matics would have the same suspension mounting points, even if the stock shocks were different.

it was on a web site. Here's why I think that it's possible:
When I had a VW rabbit, a common upgrade was getting the GTI suspension and sway bars. The GTI had thicker bars and sportier struts/springs, but the a-arms and all of the mounting points were the same. Therefore, if you looked the parts up on a list, they would list different part numbers, because they are different parts, but they are interchangeable. So the guy at auto zone would see two different part numbers and tell you that it wouldn't fit, but really it would.
I imagine that as long as all of the w124s share the same a-arms, etc. that the parts should fit.

300e 2.8 and 300e 3.2 use same struts.
There are, however, no Sports versions for W124 1992-on

See, this is what I'm wondering about...
That site lists the same part #s for the 83-91 sedan and the 87-95 coupe for the heavy duty shocks, but not the comfort. It would seem that the suspension mounting points would be the same for the sedan and coupe, but there are sedan years with different part numbers and coupe years that only match one range of sedan years and not the other....
Does anyone know if the sport shocks listed for the 83-91 sedans will fit the 92-95 sedans?????

I wouldn't worry so much about "mounting points" and worry instead about transition from M103 to M104 motor. Latter is probably heavier.

call rusty for shocks
Call Rusty at buymbparts.com
Just step up to the original parts Mercedes Benz Bilstein parts, guaranteed for life and they fit! I just installed new front struts, yes they cost more than the NAPA auto part store price of $110, Bilstein was $179, I'm keeping the car for a long long time and don't want to drive on warn out shocks in a couple of years.

W124
All shocks are interchangable on all W124s regardless of model or year.
The only exception is the E500 and estate rears (self levelling). E420 is not a UK model so can't comment on that one.
Sports will be fine on a lowered E280.
Edit. 4 matic may also be different, not sure.
