Interchangability

Ok here I am again with more questions. The question now is the interchangability between 300E parts and 230E, how much can I swap?

almost everything!.....I had a 230e here in california...never passed smog so i had to crush it at the end...Engine parts you can interchange from a 190e since they have the same 2.3l engine....you can not excahange computers or anything electrical and exhaust either...if you can't find parts that are from the 300e just get them from a 190e...

That great! The 230Es' are getting rare, even here in Germany, but if I can upgrade from the 300Es' and hit the junkyards for 190Es', I will be in good shape for the eccentials. The custom stuff (chrome trim, black taillights, etc.) I can order. Now this leads me to my next question. How big of an engine can I swap in? The 2.3L still has some get up and go, but it is up there in mileage and age. The Bimmers and Audies' are killing me here on the Autobahn.

If your car is a w124 body then I believe you could go as big as the 5 liter V-8.

I liked my 2.3 a little better than my 3.0...it was light and i did 85 everyday on the freeway everyday without wasting much gas.....you can get an engine from a 560sec and i'll fit better than a 5l from a 500e or 400e
