how do i remover the dashboard speaker covers?

Hey everyone! Im having trouble replacing my front dash speakers and im fustraded! I tried to use a flathead to remove the speaker cover but i slightly damaged the dash. So now i left it alone and was thinking about taking it to an audio shop so they can replace it. But i dont want to wast an extra $40 dollars for the installation when i can do it myself. So can anyone help me and tell me how to remove it? Also the speaker size is 6.5" in the dash and 5.3/4" in the rear?

I wish the speakers were 6.5 in the dash. It's small than that and 5 1/4 in the rear.

lots of cars
First you have to put the screw driver down. Get a small kitched knife and try to lift up the plastic strip on the grille. Make sure you start from the front and push it in and up. Use a small philips screw driver and remove the rear and front screws and it should come off.

Those speakers are not gonna fit. You can fit 6 1/2 in the rear with a lot of cutting. 4" - 5" speakers in the front also cutting the tabs off.

Since we are on the subject, ho in the he** do I remove the speakers in the front doors of my 1992 400E? I tried to take the door panels off, but they were so tight, i was afraid I would damage them. What size are the door speakers?

the door panels are clipped on all the way around.. if you push in lightly and push up(from the bottom) you can unclip them from the bottom.. and do the same all the way around (push down from top, left from right, and right from left).. it comes off pretty easy.. sadly i learned this after forcing it off in a different way

Oh well i didnt really know the size of the front or rear speakers. i just remembered someone in this forum was talking about its one of those sizes. Thanks for the help! I really appreciated because one of my damn front speakers is blown out. Can you still get max out put on the aftermarkert speakers that are the same size as your stock ones?
