a TVR Cerbera Speed Twelve
I'd stick to OEM parts when it comes to brake pads, filters and such, (personal experience). As for the fluids, I go aftermarket all the way...

my 2 cents

With my limited experience of two or so months I have found ALWAYS check the dealer pricing before buying after market anything...
Ball joints after market $80... Dealer $35.00
Air filter ...aftermarket 18-25 dealer $35.00
Always know when you bring in your car what the dif is for parts and sometimes you can suggust it to your mechanic like I did with the ball joints...
Well there is my 2 cents for whatever value it has..

I suggest using OEM antifreeze, though there are some aftermarket brands of antifreeze that can be safely used.

I have 3 124s and only use MB parts because you get a 1year warranty on all parts. This is especially important on electronics if you buy it from the dealer. So if $150 relay is bad (it has happened) they will take it back no questions asked.
Fluids, too, are important. As mentioned, the ph of MB spec. coolant is different from most aftermarket (green) coolants for a very specific reason. I believe, however, that Zerex markets a yellow coolant that is acceptable for MB use. Same thing with hydraulic fluid if you have a wagon, 4matic or a diesel with ASD. Better safe than sorry.
Cultivate a relationship with a dealer parts guy and pretty soon you may be getting 20% off list.
