Help!!!

Dont know if my many posts at once are getting annoying... sorry.

Anyway, i posted before that my car wont start, and it still wont but im going to probably get it running today.. ill be out there working on it all day. But, i can turn the key and get all the electric stuff to work (power windows, seats, sunroof, etc)... but when i turn my headunit on.. it comes on, the antennae comes out.. and i hear no sound. its not muted or anything.. i just cant figure out why i cannot hear anything. Does this have something to do with the car not starting?

Again, sorry for the possibly very annoying repetitive posts, but need help.

Can you explain all of the car's symptoms in more detail?

The no start issue. When you say it doesn;t start, does it turn over and the engine just wont run, or it does not turn over at all?

As far as the stereo, is it the stock unit or an aftermarket unit? I.E. Does the car have aftermarket amplifiers, etc installed?

the engine will turn over if we put jumper cables on it or charge the battery, then as we keep turning it over after some time trying to fix it it slowly turns less and less then finally wont turn at all.. so then we put the other battery which has been charging and repeat the process.

He just bought the headunit (a pioneer cd player) and had it installed. Not stock.

did they bypass the factory amplifiers when it was installed or did they tap into them. it is possible that if they did not bypass them that the amplifiers aren;t turning on, or if they wired it rhtough the fader switch ont he console that it has failed and will need ot be bypassed.

as far as the starting, it turns over and wont fire, so you can rule out the starter as the problem.

Check hte OVP it is located behind the battery, and has a fuse on top. if that is good, then check all the fuses in the engine compatment, and remove each one and reseat it. those ceramic fuses can sometimes be broken without looking broken. best to buy all new ones and replace them anyway, thats what I did in my car, and havent had a problem with fuses since.

My car had a similar no start issue last year, and it turned out to be the EZL, in that the car had fuel and battery, but was not getting a spark.

Elminate the spark, and the only thing left would be fuel. could be a fuel pump relay or the fuel pumps arent coming on. do you hear a bussing coming fromt he right rear wheel area for a few seconds when you turnt he key to the ON position without trying to start it.

that is to read codes. diagnostic socket.

Do this. Pull out a spark plug, then with it out of the car, attach it to the wire it came from, and hold the tip of it by the engine. and have someone turnt he car over. do this with it dark so you can see the spark. if you see a spark, then you can eliminate that from your troubleshooting.

Then you need to figure out if it is getting fuel.
