Window Problem

My Drivers side window has a problem. It is not rolling up all the way. It can roll down and up, but only to a certain point at which it stops and makes a loud clicking noise, and wont go any farther. Is the motor that rolls up the window bad? or could the gears be stripped? If you have any idea let me know, im tired of not being able to wash my car properly!

thanks

do a search on winddow regulator. that is probably the culprit.

most likely it. Your going to need to remove the door panel and replace it.

The same thing happened to my window some time back. I was raising the window, & it closed with a unusual thump, then dropped down an inch or so. The window regulator needs to be reset. Remove both the left & right door panels for comparison. Be careful not to break the mounting clips; although replacement clips don't cost much. Look closely at the lower part of the regulators, you'll see the lower part of the left regulator flipped over & is now upside down. You have to loosen the mounting screws and correct it. This is an easy repair, with no new parts needed.
