Fuel Delivery!! Narrowed Down
Ok, We have spark, we have full tank of gas, the fuel pumps come on.. However, we have found that fuel at good pressure is making it to the fuel distributor but no fuel is making it to the injectors. What could it be?
Any other thoughts appreciated!! please help
Thanks

So...does fuel come out of the return line with the pumps on. The injectors wont come on unless youre cranking. What about the cold start valve, is that popping open as well. Remove everything and crank and see if all of them are spraying. If none of them or the return line is blocked, trace the problem backwards.
Good luck,
Pete

5th post on fuel problem...VERY FRUSTRATED
There is good pressure from fuel pump to fuel distributor, however, no fuel is coming out of the top of the fuel distributor??? Where is the return line?? I thought that CIS-E system didnt have one?? Is there a way to jump electrical connections to actuate the distributor?? Will cold start valve keep it from starting for any reason?
Any help appreciated
Pictures?
Thanks,

When you say there is no fuel coming out of the fuel dist, how did you verify this?Did you pull any injectors to see if they are spraying? Also if you push the air flap down (gently) on the dist ,does it have any resistance.....if not the plunger could be stuck inside........good luck!

It changes all the time
Define good pressure. To determine if you are getting proper fuel delivery, you need to run a fuel pressure and volume test as per MB workshop instructions. Otherwise you are beating your head against the wall by continuing to diagnose a problem in the fuel system without performing these steps first.

Something else to look for - the pressure accumulator on the cis-e system can give the false impression of pressure from the pumps. It is a spring loaded diaphragm that holds pressure in the system when the car is not running.
