Alabaster White 300CE ?
Would a 300CE look good in Alabaster White (960)? I'm thinking of repainting my ride after restoration. It is currently Black (040). Any other suggestions, pictures welcomed!

White = my favorite color but on a Benz, black is the best look imo.
But,
If your car started off white, I'd suggest leaving it white too.

It won't look good at all unless you pull the motor, all the wiring, all the door linings, seats, trunk linings, etc. and paint everything the new color.
It will reduce your resale value to zero.

I'd say keep it black as well. If you're talking about a restoration job where you've taken everything off/out of the car, then as long as you're talking about a good paint job ($1500+) then go with whatever color you want!
If I could tell that a white car used to be black, my assumption would be repainted after a wreck and I would move on. Even if you'll never sell it, people will think you're ghetto if you don't do a repaint the right way.

1993 300CE Sportline
keep it original
I'll be the first to say white is great looking...my 1993 CE is white. But if you change the color your car is nothing. Especially a mercedes. NEVER change the color unless as another poster noted: it is a restoration. I have a 1968 MB 230 that was repainted from white to brown, it is a poor job and the car is worthless. I got it for zero and while it only has only 90,000 some miles on it there is simply no value except as a utility vehicle. It belonged to a friend and he could not sell it. My kid is learning to drive in it. It is worthlees now and certainly will be worthless when he is done with it.
