Need 1993 300e engine harness
Hi,
I am in need of an engine harness for my '93 300E. Does anyone know where I can pick one up at a reasonable price. My local MB dealer was of no help.
Thanks, R. Kaplan

wrecking yards
Have you checked mercedes benz wrecking yards? If you are a member of the mercedes benz club of america there are numerous advertisers that you could contact. Visit their site at www.mbca.org and look at the magazine, The Star, great resource. What do you mean when you say the dealer was of no help? Do you mean the price was to high? I'm curious why you need an entire wiring harness? Damaged?
good luck,

93E engine harness
I purchased this car almost 2 years ago. The wire harness had been already replaced. It drove beautifully until last summer. It started hestitating, then it would stall when I stopped at a traffic light. I took the car to my mechanic, works on mercedes, not the dealer. He changed the plugs, wires etc . The car drove fine for a couple of weeks and the problems started again.
It is at the dealer's today and they said Mercedes would discount the cost of a new wire harness and installation 15%. I said no and I am on my way to pick up the car and try and find an inexpensive harness.
I am going to check the site you gave me and see it that produces any positive results. I would appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you.

We're still curious how your problem was diagnosed and attributed to a bad wiring harness. There are many other things that can cause poor driveability. We'd hate to see you spend a large sum of money on the wiring harness and not have it solve your problem.

If the harness has already been replaced it's very unlikely to fail again, unless of course it has somehow been abused. I would look elsewhere, unless you can see damage to the harness, and even then I would try to fix it. The replacement harnesses do not suffer the insulation deterioration problems of the originals.
